PRACTICAL:

  • Demonstrate an appel
  • Demonstrate a ballestra
  • Demonstrate a cross-over step
  • Demonstrate a fleche
  • Demonstrate a ducking stop hit
  • Show an attack into an opening line
  • Show an attack on an opponent's recovery
  • Show an attack into an opponent's preparation
  • Demonstrate progressive compound Attacks
  • First counter riposte - final action compound
  • Second counter riposte - final action compound
  • Demonstrate broken time attacks
  • Demonstrate angulated attacks and ripostes
  • Demonstrate defences against pris-de-fer attacks

 

THEORY:

  • Explain/define the following movements:
  • Define successive parries
  • Define a second counter-riposte
  • Define a a doublé
  • Explain how fencers with equal victories are promoted in the pool system
  • Show the ability to assess and solve tactical problems
  • What is the penalty for leaving the piste to avoid being hit
  • What is the penalty for unjustified appeal by a competitor
  • What is the penalty for appearing on the piste with faulty equipment
  • What is the penalty for placing/pressing the point or straightening the blade on the piste

 

REFEREEING:

  • Demonstrate correct phrasing and terminology
  • Demonstrate use of French terminology
  • Demonstrate the use of correct hand signals for all phrasing
  • Demonstrate where appropriate a correct enforcement of the rules and regulations of fencing

 

FREE FIGHTING:

  • Display competition level fencing using a variety of bladework, footwork, distance, timing, tempo and tactical fencing
