UPCOMING COMPETITIONS & COURSES

To take part in competitions you must comply with BFA Equipment Regulations. This means wearing the minimum of CEN Level 1 (350N) level clothing, including breeches and a CEN Level 2 (800N) under plastron. You can find a guide to getting involved in competitive fencing here.

Welsh Youth Foil Championships

3rd February 2007. Age group regional held at the WIS Cardiff. Full details and entry form here.

 

Merseyside Open 6W *

9th - 10th February 2007. Good well run competition, medium diffculty. Full details here.

 

Welsh Team Foil Championships

10th February 2007. Venue: WIS, Cardiff. Star will be entering at least one team into this competition. It's free to take part and you get a huge number of fights over the course of the day. If you want to be considered for the team please contact me.

Welsh Closed and Team Sabre Championships

SOCIAL EVENTS

 

Post Training Social

Every Thursday after training, Star Sword Club members congregate in the extremely reputable public house - 'The Cottage'. All fencers, over 21 years of age, are welcome to come along for a drink and a chat.

Graduation Social

Date to be confirmed. In celebration of the beginners' becoming full members we thought we could all go out for a meal. The current idea is Itallian. Please speak to Hayley in club if you have any questions/ideas and watch this space.

 

TRAINING SESSIONS

Welsh National Coach Visit - 14th February 19:30 - 21:30

On the 14th of February Professor Peter Stewart, the Welsh National Coach will be making an area visit to Star Sword. He will run a class session for the more experienced fencers. This is an excellent opportunity to benefit from Professor Stewart's vast experience and I hope to see the session well attended, especially by our competitive fencers.
