  • Rules: British Fencing rules will be applied throughout the event, except where, at the discretion of the organising committee, changes are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
  • Refreshments: Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
  • Prizes: Trophies and T-shirts for 1st and 2nd in each weapon, Medals and T-shirts for joint 3rd in each weapon (click here for images of prizes)

 

HOW TO ENTER?

There are two ways to enter the Oxfam Open - with a standard entry fee or by being sponsored.

1) STANDARD ENTRY FEE (from £10.00):

Your entry fee is based on how early you get it in. See closing dates above for details. There are two ways to submit your entry application:

By Post: Download and complete an entry form from here. Send your application with your entry fee to: Oxfam Open Entry, 38 Lodge Avenue, Caerleon, Newport NP18 3EJ. Cheques made payable to 'Charity Fencing Open'.

2) SPONSORED ENTRY

Rather than paying the standard entry fee why not get sponsored to fence?! Through sponsorship you can raise money for Oxfam and take part in a superb event!

To enter by sponsorship:

  • Download a sposorship form here and start collecting money.
  • Send a completed entry form to: Oxfam Open Entry, 38 Lodge Avenue, Caerleon, Newport NP18 3EJ and mark it 'sponsorship due on day'
  • Bring your sponsorship forms and money along on the day of the competition (minimum £15 for 1 weapon, £22 for 2 weapons).
  • You can also make/receive sponsorship payments online by clicking here. Send the link to your friends/family.

There will be a prize awarded to the individual who raises the most sponsorship.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Security - We do ask you to try and avoid leaving personal belongings unattended and that you report any suspicious behaviour to the DT immediately.

Litter - In keeping with Oxfam's green policies, recycling bins will be made available in the competition area. Please use these and make sure you do not inadvertantly litter the venue. Thank you.
