Star Sword Club is run by a group of officers who give their time and expertise voluntarily to support the club and promote the sport of fencing.
HEAD COACH & CHAIRMAN:
Mr Peter Russell
Peter is a qualified Foil, Sabre, and Epée coach. He has 10 years of fencing experience and Coaches at Gwent Sword Club and Cardiff University Club. He also competes regularly on the National and Welsh Circuit.
Peter is a member of the Academy of Historical Fencing and trains in Tae Kwon Do, at which he holds a black belt.
TREASURER:
Mr Christopher Powell

Chris has been fencing for 8 years and although predominantly a foilist, also trains in epée and sabre. He competes regularly on the Weslh and National circuit and hold a british ranking in all three weapons.
A Graduate from Cardiff University, Chris currently works as a financial advisor.
SECRETARY & ARMOURER :
Mr Thomas Martin

SABRE COACH:
Mr Christopher Markall
Chris has fenced Sabre since a young age and has competed at junior international level. He qualified as a coach through the BFA and now coaches Sabre at Star.
SOCIAL SECRETARY & ASSISTANT COACH:
Miss Hayley Porter

Hayley is a qualified WF Foil Coach. She Captained the Cardiff Women's team 2006-7 and acted as Social Secretary to the University Club. During her time in Cardiff Hayley represented the University at the BUSA Individuals in Nottingham and competed against other Universities in team events.
Hayley is also a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple of Court and is involved in the Cardiff University Pro Bono scheme.
MINI-FENCE OFFICER :
Miss Marisol Taylor

Marisol has been fencing since her second year of university, where she represented Cardiff in inter-university matches and student competitions. Since then she's continued to compete at a local and national level. She has recently become involved with SSC's mini-fence initiative and other administrative tasks.
Marisol is due to qualify as an occupational therapist in July 2008.
